A little more about me…

Hello from San Diego, CA!

I’m a UX/Product Designer with a UI/UX Design Certificate from Springboard and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from Colorado State; I concentrated on graphic design and data analysis. I’ve worked in both digital marketing and risk operations, so am here to solve problems while telling engaging, human-focused stories. My experience collaborating with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders make me a valuable team player in the UX Design world. The wellness, travel, and tech spaces really excite me!

When I'm not designing for a better digital world, I'm trying a new recipe, challenging myself with a new fitness routine (like tennis, yoga, or hiking), researching why my plant keeps dying, or packing for my next camping or travel destination.

Why UX/Product Design?

I have this immense desire to learn and explore. That drive for a challenge is why I travel to different countries. It’s why I feel the need to create the most complicated meal for dinner on any given day of the week. Lastly, it’s why I love UX design. It requires me to investigate an experience, a process, or a person. Then, it forces me to digest all of those ideas and transform them into one simple solution. It’s engaging, and it struck a chord with my lifelong journey to balance my analytical mind with the urge to create.

I’m passionate about people and information.

I started my career in marketing because I wanted to understand people’s motivations to buy or do things. Being in the digital space opened me up to "data", which changed the game for me. It was a glimpse into this world of information about people that has endless possibilities.

I know how to balance user and business needs.

After a frustrating two years on a risk team, where I was seemingly fighting the customer on the company's behalf to mitigate risk and collect lost funds, I decided I wanted to flip my script. I wanted to start fighting for the customer. This friction led me to UX Design, but it also makes me a valuable player in space. I know what it takes to balance user and company needs and how to engage stakeholders' interests to fight for my goals and objectives.

I know how to collaborate on and manage website launches, process improvements, and team projects.

I was a product manager at a digital marketing firm creating websites, brands, and content. I stepped up as a risk analyst to streamline processes and user experiences that were beyond my job description. In both experiences, I worked with developers, designers, product managers, and advertisers on a daily basis to get these projects done. I tapped into my ability to adapt to different people and situations to get results efficiently and with a small number of resources. I used my analytical mindset, communication prowess, and creativity to launch several successful websites and process improvements.
